CLEVELAND (AP) The Indians did not tender a contract to catcher Lou Marson, who was slowed by injuries in 2013.
Marson was dropped from Cleveland's roster on Monday, making the 27-year-old a free agent. Marson, who played in 253 games for the Indians since 2009, became expendable with the emergence of catcher Yan Gomes.
The club avoided salary arbitration with relievers Frank Herrmann and Blake Wood by signing them to one-year contracts. Both pitchers are coming off Tommy John surgery and will make $560,000 in 2014.
