Analisis: The right-hander had surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow after last season. He tore cartilage in his left knee while throwing and had surgery on Feb. 14, the day the Reds opened spring training. Latos had hoped to be ready to rejoin the rotation later this month. He suffered a setback this week when he was scratched from a minor league rehab start because of the sore forearm. He said the elbow and the knee felt good, and he's unsure why the forearm has become a problem.

Analisis: Manager Bryan Price said he didn't believe Latos' injury was serious, but said the team will take a conservative approach and reschedule a rehab appearance after the soreness was gone. The elbow bothered Latos, who had been set to pitch for Triple-A Louisville at Columbus after he threw in the bullpen Sunday.

Analisis: Latos suffered the injury a few days earlier while throwing in Arizona. He'll have to stop throwing for about 10 days to let the knee heal. General manager Walt Jocketty said Latos could be ready for the start of the season.
